National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos
National Theatre, Lagos, is an architectural masterpiece and a cultural landmark located at Iganmu, in the mainland of Lagos. The 7 floor edifice covers an area of about 23,000 square meters and standing well over 31 meters tall, the multipurpose National Theatre was established to promote Arts and Culture in Nigeria. Since it’s formal opening in 1975, the National Theatre has hosted a great number of international events, music concerts, plays, film shows, symposia, exhibitions, conferences and sport activities. Think of the National Theatre as a convention centre built with a unique style and Grandeur. This architectural masterpiece is worth seeing during a visit to Lagos.

National Museum, Onikan, Lagos
The National museum’s Onikan vast collection tells a more than a 1000-year-old history of Nigeria cultural eras which includes Nok, Benin, Ife, Igbo-Ukwu, Owo, Nupe, Ibibio and a host of others. With a collection of over 47,000 items such as masks, textiles, drums, guns, pottery, bronze, ivory, terracotta and wooden figures shows the cultural diversity of pre-historic Nigeria. These transcending exihibits will definitely entertain, educate and inspire you.

Lekki Conservation Center (LCC)
Established in 1990 and located in Lekki, Lagos. This 78 hectares (192 arces) is an icon of ecotourism and biodiversity that exist in the south western part of Nigeria. Boasting of the longest canopy walk in Africa, from which you can view different animals like monkeys, reptiles, snakes, crocodiles, birds etc. This breath taking scenery and closeness to nature makes Lekki Conversation Center a highly recommended attraction to check out when visiting Nigeria.

Kalakuta Museum (FELA Museum), Ikeja Lagos
From broadway plays to docuseries, FELA ANUKULAPO KUTI, the Nigerian musical icon and activist who passed away in 1997 continues to inspire world wide. Ever wondered about the history of Afrobeat (a genre which led to Afrobeats), a visit to this private museum operated by the estate of Legendary Fela Kuti, will give you answers. Check out his musical instruments, his gravesite monument, clothing, shoes and many more personal items which are all on display at his 3 storey home turned museum. This reasonably priced tour will give you a mind blowing insight into the man, the myth, the Legend. FELA!

Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina, Lagos
The Cathedral Church of Christ Marina, is an Anglican cathedral completed in 1946. With it’s towering Norman Gothic-style Architecture, Impressive Tower Clock, Elegant Pipe Organ, Soaring Arches and Intricate Stained-Glass Windows, this well maintained edifice is a sight to behold. The cathederal also houses the Tomb of Bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowther, the first African Bishop of the Angelical Church who contributed immersersely to the growth of Christianity in Nigeria. Tours are available on Weekdays 10am – 4pm.

Lagos Central Mosque
Located in the heart of Lagos Island. The Lagos Central Mosque is a grand edifice opened in 1988. It was re-built on the site of the old mosque which was built in 1913. The structure has 4 towering minarets. The Mosque also has an office block, residence, library and an Islamic centre. The Lagos Central Mosque is not open to tourists but it’s elegance can be admired from the street on which it stands. However, Muslim faithfuls from any part of the world can access to pray at designated times. The Lagos Central Mosque also hosts a large crowd of worshippers for the Jumat prayers on Friday afternoons.
